I mean, all the hitting coach can really do is help point out any mechanical flaws/issues with a players swing and show them video on how to correct things. After that, not sure what else he can do. This is a lineup filled with mostly journeyman/replacement players as well as a washed up former great. Not sure what the hitting coach is supposed to do with that. He's not gonna just magically turn Cliff Pennington and Danny Espinosa into good hitters when they've been terrible hitters their entire careers

Pretty much.  Rule #1 of being a hitting coach is don't mess with what is working.  So whoever is our hitting coach has no reason to talk to Trout outside of, "Hey, good morning Mike."
