He is one of the few tradeable guys we have. Still under club control, lock to hit 30 a year (more in a hitters park), under 30. I could see getting a decent return for that.

 

That being said.....I dont think you can trade him. He and trout will be the two guys that pull the weight of the aging pujols and hamilton over the next several years.

Homegrown, local guy, under club control, with legit monster power, that is an all star, average at d but can play multiple positions.  Kind of reminds me of a young McGwire, except for the juice.

 

So people want to trade him?  

 

With him and Trout, these are the types of players you build your team around.

as a fan i am looking at an org that basically needs to start over with the exception of those three players. rebuild the farm, get a new, not circa 1970's NL field management philosophy, and bulid the on the field product from within. we are looking at a long road ahead.

I'd trade Weaver before trading Trumbo.

 

He would get a nice return, but so would Mike Trout. I'd say build around those two. Trade the older guys.

agreed - basically you keep the young homegrown guys - take offers for anyone else and go from there

Look, I'm a Trumbo fan, but let's not forget the start he got off to last year.  I guess it would be wise to wait until 2014 to look at the market for him.  Let's see how he finished 2013.
