I'm seeing a lot of "But Trump" or other similar arguments on Twitter. Using these allegations to attack the right is not defending him but it's not exactly perfect either.

If Fraken doesn't have a better explanation than he currently has come out with, or witnesses to provide a different context, and to be honest it's probably going to get worse when you think about his SNL days, he should think about resigning. 

His call for ethics committee to investigate him at a minimum should proceed immediately.

Minnesota has a democrat governor who appoint a democrat replacement.  He should step down.

This could actually work out for the Democrats. They thrown Franken under the bus and appoint another Dem to replace him. A Republican will not win an election there for the forseeable future, so the seat is safe.

Then they turn around and say their quick action on Franken demands the GOP take action on Moore. The accusations against him are arguably far worse.
