You guys are acting like this was a Blackhawk Down level catastrophic event. It wasn't.

1 Seal dead, at least 3 others wounded, a 75 million dollar MV-22 Osprey lost, up to 31 civilians dead including an 8 year old girl American citizen.

It's still pretty bad.

After the initial fatal flaws they've actually become fairly reliable, as I understand it.  They're no F-35.

Eh?  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accidents_and_incidents_involving_the_V-22_Osprey#May_2015

I think it's a vital aircraft and even more vital in aircraft development but boy has the road been, perhaps predictably, bumpy.

And surprisingly the F-35 has been getting relatively decent press lately. Granted when you hit rock bottom the only way is up but still.

The Navy version is still a mess

The 2015 crash was due to the dusty conditions and the 2016 was because of the rotor blade striking the IFR hose. Not necessarily related to aircraft deficiencies. As you said, when you've hit rock bottom...

Trump authorized a military mission into an ISIS stronghold without proper intelligence. Quite a lot, I would say.

no, he did not. he authorized a military mission into an Al Qaeda stronghold.  even if you didn't read the article Glen posted, he pasted this portion:

As a result, three officials said, the attacking SEAL team found itself dropping onto a reinforced al Qaeda base defended by landmines, snipers, and a larger than expected contingent of heavily armed Islamist extremists."

i hope you realize there's a difference between the two.

After a while these radical Islamic groups all run together. My bad*. Thanks for pointing it out, because it is far more important that I identified the wrong radical Islamic group than the President authorizing a special forces mission without current intelligence.

I credit Jack Bauer

*and it's i'm bad
