Mariners and D-Backs swap Walker-Segura + others

pretty questionable that JeDi would move a pitcher with the upside of Walker with most of the controllable years still left.  Segura is a solid player but the Mariners don't seem close or anything to me.

That organization finished second in AL West so,  why shouldn't the Angels worry about them?

We're still recovering from Dipoto. He inherited that team, once he puts his stamp on the team they'll get set back as well.

I get the feeling they don't feel confident about Walker's long term health but on the surface the trade is a little odd. Segura probably needs to move to 2B eventually and they have Cano there so?

As far as the Mariners being close they are. They have some dominant bullpen pieces particularly there closer. The pitching is still strong and may get stronger if they trade for another pitcher like Chris Sale for instance. They need OF help but overall they are just a couple of moves away from being real contenders.

OK, so we still need to worry about them because we sacked this year and Dipoto hasn't destroyed Seattle just yet.
