Agreed. The fact they were 2 wins away and thought they had a chance, but got it swiped away from them in 3 games straight is a remarkable nail to the heart.

It was more of a quick aside comment as he was praising the Cubs FO(Theo, Jed, etc) who helped quickly turn things around and then went on to talk about getting Maddon, who he said was with the Angels for years and was the mastermind behind Mike Scioscia, then went on to Tampa Bay and helped turn that org around.

Oh so the flight was shorter than it would be from Phoenix?  Cool, still awful logic.  The Cubs beat us because they were better, they were better because they are in the sweet spot after being lousy for a long time. They have tons of money and tons of prospects because they had some tradable assets.  Of those things I just mentioned we have one, tons of money to spend, let's see if Arte chooses to go that route.
