CALZONE, be honest...you've had that picture since March, haven't you?

Since Opening Day. It was easy to see that we didn't have a competitive team back then. We were in 2nd place before we threw one pitch thanks to the schedule makers. We never did get to 1st place by ourselves this season.

You were saying how this was a good team all offseason. But we know why that is, don't we sweetums?

yep

I said that Arte was not going to sign another high dollar left fielder because we already had one on the books. Arte also knew that we were not just another high dollar LF contact away from being competitive. He was right.

It also looks like Arte is going to benefit from Mike Trout drawing 3M fans again this season. Mike Trout is like Disneyland to the fans. He makes the stadium the happiest place on earth no matter what the standings are. Arte is very fortunate to have the best player in baseball on his roster.

The Angels pitching staff has given up the 4th most runs in the AL during the season. The Rangers the 3rd most. They also have the 4th worst BAA, WHIP and 4th worst OPS. Texas is masking a poor pitching staff by amassing a ton of runs on the offensive side. I would have to say they are the odds on favorite to crash and burn in the playoffs.

The Yankees were a .500 team on August 9th. They had already dumped Chapman, Miller and Beltran. They then sent A-rod packing.

They call that tanking right?

What the Skanks are doing is WTF material.

Does Gary Sanchez get AL ROTY, despite only playing some two months at the MLB level?

The main competition at this point would likely be Naquin and Fulmer.

There is precedent.    Willie McCovey was NL ROTY in 1959, despite not being in the MLB lineup until late July and only appearing in 52 games with a 1.085 OPS.

Sanchez has been crazy good. The Yankees were written off two months ago. They're unexpectedly playing good baseball now and their future looks even better.

It shits all over your belief that you can't build a farm and spend money at the same time.
