I'm not entirety out of danger yet but it looks a lot better this morning.

I just read that the southbound lanes are still closed, but the northbound lanes are open.

I'm hoping to go north through the pass tomorrow morning. Keeping an eye on the updates

Fire has broken out near Santa Barbara.  Near some rich peoples homes.  So resources are being diverted.

My brother had to go get my late grandmother from Lake Arrowhead in the 2003 fire. With more and more growth in the mountains and less and less rainfall, this appears to be the new norm, unfortunately.

Drove through Cajon Pass yesterday. Stop and go until the 138 and then traffic sped up to normal. Sad to see all the hills black and gray. Summit Inn at the top burned to the ground. McDonalds at the 138 off ramp has fire damage as well as the gas station next door.
