The September call-up period is coming on fast. But with the Angels, there's really nobody worth calling up. Maybe Nate. But he's not really ready for prime time and may never be ready. Buss is all SLC had available to replace Robinson, who was himself hardly worth a roster spot.

Meanwhile, The Bronx Bombers unwrapped two Baby Bombers on the same day Saturday and each one homered in his first MLB at-bat. Can you get us to that point in a reasonable time, Billy?

Weaver is dead last for BAA for qualified starters in the AL. Maybe a rain out is a good thing.

So, that's why we suck today?  Ok that's dumb.  If you want to play the butterfly effect with this go ahead, but it doesn't cause shitty drafting.  Sure we signed free agents so we didn't get first round picks but that doesn't mean you can't get talent in the second rounds.  If you want to know what screwed this team more than anything it's the 2010 draft.

Excellent point. Five picks between 18 and 40 and, if I'm not mistaken, only Bedrosian is apparently not a bust. Cowart is hovering on bust territory for such a high draft spot. it has been 6 seasons already. And who ARE those other guys? (Lindsay is stinking in SD's AA pit.)

Maddon couldn't do any worse then Scioscia has this year. Joe might have helped the Angels win  a World Series in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014. 

Well maybe, he could have also had the same exact or worse performance.  It's fun to speculate.

It would be interesting if the Cubs and Indians met, the non-expansion teams from each league with the longest WS championship drought.
