That pop fly was almost an Alphonse and Gaston act until Gaston took the catch. But that E3 a couple of plays later is what happens when you're plugging holes with out-of-position players. Gaston was playing like a third baseman instead of heading to first to catch Johnny's throw.

In specific reference to the earlier post about Alphonse and Gaston, it was about Johnny and Jefry appearing indecisive about who was going for the pop fly. "Alphonse and Gaston" has a specific meaning in baseball: when two fielders allow a catchable ball to drop between them, it is known as “doing the Alphonse and Gaston.”
