It depends on if the ump lies or not.  

MS protested the game because the ump initially said that the runner had a right to be where he was.  If the ump sticks to that then we will win the protest.

I had heard that the umps were later claiming that they determined him to be within the baseline and even though they are wrong, that would be a judgement call and not subject to protest which would result in us losing.

If we win the appeal and the game is replayed from that spot in the game later this season, imagine what that looks like after the trade deadline.  If we trade Escobar, Smith and Street and they trade Wade Davis, it would be strange.  No Escobar at 3rd in a game where he was at 3rd. Or if we traded Shoe, and he made the error on the play that's being protested.
