That's my understanding.  Runners on 2nd and 3rd, one out, Angels up 3-1.

Would the runners be sent back to their original bases?

Or is it assumed that they should be on 2nd and 3rd anyway, because the interference had no bearing on their advancement?

The Brett Pine Tar incident in 1983?   The umps ruling was of course overruled, and the HR allowed.   The game was resumed later in the season with the next batter after the HR.
