Yep, I would. In an ideal world I would like to see Simmons moved now but it's not going to happen with Eppler as GM so I don't spend too much time thinking about it.

You can get a Newcomb type pitcher for Simmons easily ... I'd ask for more.

He is under control for a shorter period of time now than he was when we acquired him and hasn't performed at a higher level than he did before. Those two factors alone would indicate we would be unlikely to receive a higher return than we paid for him were we to trade him now. Every good player's value diminishes as their length of club control gets shorter, unless their performance improves to negate that.

No way would I want either of those guys back, they can't get out of the own way in the minors.  There is no one in our system close to replacing Simmons.  When this team plays solid defense, they shine.  I would like to see us get more defense, not less.

I wonder if Fielder's career is over. His fused vertebra shows new damage above the previous surgery. He was feeling muscular weakness in his left arm. Surgery will definitely end his season. But will it cure his problem enough to play again?
