How 'Pokemon Go' went from prank to phenomenon

I was at the Monte Carlo this week in Bakersfield and saw a burly outlaw biker playing Pokemon

since this thing started, the percentage of awkward (nerdy) white young people ive seen walking around in shitty areas late at night at work has skyrocketed.

it would appear some joker that programs the spots wants both nerdy kids to get robbed, as well as my favorite spots to park and eat to get ruined.

I read an article somewhere.. WSJ maybe?  That said there are many high profile lawyers just waiting for their chance to sue Nintendo into oblivion because of Pokemon Go.  The fact that nobody has yet tells me that their EULA is pretty solid.

you mean as in terms of if someone gets hurt trying to chase them down? geez...lame lawsuit, but could totally see someone suing because of it.

It didn't really specify.  I thought more of leading a teenager into a bad neighborhood and the kid getting killed or something.  Again, to me that is personal responsibility but ambulance chasers like @calscuf get off on blaming corporations for personal responsibility.

Ironically Nintendo doesn't own all of Pokemon (to be sued), they came out and said so and their stock plummeted. The only own a small percentage of it.

They own 33% of it.  They are publishing the game though so they would definitely be liable.
