One could argue that last year was unfortunate as Joyce underperformed after being thrust into a starting role when hamilton was given his golden parachute.  

This year it was purposeful.

I am glad we didn't sign Cespedes .290/.362/.584/.946/18 HR/44 RBI. I was wanting him ever since the World Series. I mean he didn't cost a draft pick or anything.

It actually would have been a waste if we spent a ton of money as it wouldn't have changed much unless they really broke the bank.

The good thing about not being able to watch this game, or the other three this weekend, is that the game moves along quite quickly. Terry and Mark are background buzz while I'm watching something else.
