 Not sure, but several have a higher batting average, including Kole Calhoun, CJ Cron.. and two of Ortiz's teammates.

Currently no one is the best player in the game. But to be considered the best player in the game you should at the very least lead the league in some offensive categories. Average, Rbi's, Ops, Slg, Hrs,  ????

If a player was 2nd in all of those categories, I would consider him the best player

Best in the game needs to do better offensively than Ortiz is doing. He provides no value outside of the batter's box.
