Ritchie gets a meeting with player safety. Lol... Yet, Giordano gets nothing. Come on.

Don't drop your gloves if you don't want to get punched.

Oddly, the Blackhawks didn't get called for third man in when the Blackhawk was punching Ritchie in the back of the head while he was down.

2 games for Richie

Yea this is just fucking incredible.  Tootoo doesn't get anything for hitting him 3 times from behind and being the 3rd man in.  Such horseshit.  That with Giordano not getting shit because he's a "good" guy.  I'm not one to usually whine about thing like this but this all seems pretty unjust.

If Giordano did that to a Blackhawk or Penguin he would have been suspended for several games at the very least.

The Owners need to man up & complain to the NHL about the Refs & the player safety department for being so crappy & biased.

What player safety message does it send that Tootoo gets nothing ? or that Giordano can go around injurying people cause he knows they were already down two defensemen.......it was intentional because he knew the Ducks were already without Lindholm & Vatanen at the time & the play itself was something he should get suspended for. Absolutely BS claim by Giordano's that he didn't do it intentionally.

The punishment is for punching a player who hasn't dropped his gloves, and isn't a willing participant in a fight.  Ritchie dropped his gloves.  Tootoo probably should have gotten a penalty, but it's not a suspendable offense to punch a player who has dropped his gloves to fight.

With Gio, you can only really speculate on his intentions, so if they feel it was unintentional, the league doesn't have to punish him.  Which isn't exactly the best way to keep players safe.  That knee, regardless of intention, was dangerous, and he should have been punished for it.  Someone who accidentally runs a stop sign and crashes into another car is still responsible for causing any damage to that car.  Why isn't that same logic being used there?  Who knows.
