Jepsen is 2-5 with a 6.17 ERA in 25 games. Molitor said Kintzler and left-hander Fernando Abad could see time in the ninth inning.

I was happy when the Angels traded him because I couldn't trust him in a big spot & I was happy with his closing success previously with the Twins as the talent was obviously there.

For whatever reason he has stopped inducing ground balls and teams are hitting both line drives and home runs off him at an incredible rate. That's never a recipe for success.

Relievers are so unpredictable that today's trash is tomorrow's All Star, and vice versa.  I think it because so many of them don't pitch enough innings to get much of a read on how much consistency they can provide.

Sounds like he's got all the credentials necessary to claim a seat on the bench in the Angel bullpen.

Jepsen was the original "Salas".  If there was a crucial hit or HR or wild pitch to give up in a critical situation for the opposing team, he was your guy.  Jason Jaso HRs come to mind...so do his appearances in Boston.
