Since March 3rd, 2013...

This new forum, new database, has 798,341 posts. 

So just over three years that's nearly a million posts! That said, in comparison we're lagging..

What's crazy is that from the last forum (2008-2013) we had 6.8 million posts.

The past two forums before that (2004-2008) 3.7 million posts. (2005-2008 we had 3/4 of the total amount).

I'm not sure why but there we're quite a few regular posters then that are no longer around. I also think that many of the newer posters haven't discovered some of the other forums like the hangout and political ones.

You know what's funny though GB, there's always more forum activity when the Angels lose and they're sucking then when we're winning.

Also in running the numbers a while back, nearly a thousand registered members didn't make it over from the old forum to the new, here. Not sure why.

I also think that Twitter and Facebook has replaced a good chunk of people's time on forums and blogs. Some people cannot multitask so they just stick to one social media outlet, not multiple.

Actually @Chuckster70 I think there's more traffic and posts when they are having good seasons but are having a bad stretch of games or a bad inning in some years.  In our 98 win season we had @Angel Oracle self ban for two months.

As far as the board slowing down, I've noticed it and I'm willing to do my part.  Hey @CALZONE Albert Pujols is the second greatest right handed hitter of all time and up until this year his WAR has kept up with his contract.   Hey @yk9001 Arte is a marketing genius.  @Adam White Russians are girly drinks.  @nate never mind that's two easy.   @Tank eat some meat you twat (with all due respect).  @shine Mike Scioscia is a hall of fame manager and this will probably be the only time anyone ever really acknowledges you on the board.

The team is a bore, Chuckster.  Even with Trout.  I hated the 80's edition of the Angels, with filled with people who earned their rep elsewhere (Reggie, DeCinces, Carew, et al).  I pretty much hate this edition as well.

Its a tribute to you and your team that the site has this many posters.  I've said it before:  Angelswin >>>Angels

Carew was 33 when he came to the Angels, DeCinces 31.  The 80's Angels and Arte's Angels used the same business model as the current MLS:  Buy players in their 30's who made their marks eslewhere.  There is a lot to like about the MLS... the crowds in Portland, Seattle, and other places.  But buying has-beens on their downside is a turnoff for me.  Not for others, I understand.

Yeah...

Lifetime gone, Trolls banned, Negative Nancy's banned, no random facts thread, no more Chonito doing the PBP in the Gameday threads, the social media presence and the team playing poorly. 

That said, when I run my real-time Google Analytics on the forum there's always 5,000+ sessions from people browsing the forum (most are not registered members.) so while posts are down, traffic is not. It's about on par to when we were hopping from 2008-2013.

She's battled health issues for a long time and 3 years ago it was even hard for her to sit up and type on a keyboard so she retired. I guess he's OK now though, occasionally posts on Facebook.

I find that this new fangled software is limiting when I can post. I haven't quite figure it out, but I'm not really a computer guy. Our HS compter class used punch cards and the computer was in a giant wooden cabinet along a 20 foot wall.

I've noticed that if I like a post then I can't post in that thread afterward.
