Shoemaker hasn't been dominant in any game in nearly two years. His 12th K was a wild pitch. His pitch count was at what for him was about maximum. I would never trust him not to get the heebie-jeebies if he's faced with nursing a 1-0 lead under pressure.

They should be doing this. The home plate ump can read the machine and call it, because this is ridiculous and way too subjective. At the bare minimum, give the managers something like 5 challenges on balls/strikes calls per game, similar to what tennis does.

Right, his last pitch was a strikeout. And yes, he has sucked lately, but he was absolutely dominant tonight. Completely disagree with your statement.

Tonight was an overall failure, except Shoemaker. Bullpen blew it, bad managing, worse offense, and some BS calls against us in the 9th. Ugh, awful.
