It's amazing how different this offense is when he's hitting the ball.  

Last 14 games he's raised his avg from .153 to .279.  

He's also second on the team in BB rate of the everyday players at 9.5% and has a wRC+ of 122.

His swing is fine and he's even drawing walks this season. Good sign in his development as a hitter.

But @Chuckster70 CaliAngel could have done what Cron is doing had he known that's all he had to do to be a major leaguer, just ask him.

Also striking out way less. He is already close to setting a career high in walks.

He has been very streaky as long as he has been with the Angels.  I just wish he was the DH and not the 1b.  Also, totally agree that he or really anyone else on the planet should be hitting after Trout.

Cron is a good, albeit streaky hitter. But he's part of this young core we have with Trout, Calhoun, Simmons, Richards, Skaggs and Heaney.

Shit if he could be the everyday DH, I would love that. But he's incredibly rough at first base and doesn't seem to really fit the mold of Eppler's run prevention motto. Just retire already, Pujols. Words can't describe how much better this franchise would be going forward with that extra $25 million in spending money and a rejuvenated Cron at DH.

why?  He's got a career wRC+ of 110 in almost 800 PA now.  Been saying all along that he's the type of hitter who could suddenly flick a switch and become really good.  Odds were against him, but if he keeps a bb rate of over 8%, he's gonna be solid.  

Plenty of major leaguers have ugly swings.  Kotchman has a pretty swing.
