I definitely wanted Choi to get his shot, since he does have pretty good pitch recognition. But, man. I'm not sure he knows what to do with it. Ortega has shown that he can play at the major league level. He doesn't have very much power, but he plays great defense and has speed on the bases. Nava was doing alright before he went on the DL.  Sure, Choi can develop into a decent player, but it shouldn't happen in a Halo uniform.

Choi is not going to provide the Angels anything because of playing time restrictions. If he had started in the minors he may be a viable call up at this point of maybe a month from now but having nothing but batting and fielding practice he really has no ability to hone his skills. They really should release him for his career sake.

It seems the book on Choi is that you can pound him in and he's pretty helpless. He's doing absolutely nobody any good on a ML roster right now. Whether it's the Angels or the O's he needs to go down to AAA and learn to turn on a fastball.
