I just voted in NYC

Are you saying it's not?

Eventually someone is gonna make enough noise on it.

well, you can make noise here on a baseball message board where no one will really hear you, or you can get involved where you live and try to begin reforming the process there.

your choice.

Here is the flaw in AFLs train of thought. Independents couldn't vote for Bernie even though he announced his Candacy long before the election cycle required registration. The same election in which an independent may choose to vote for Hillary.

So both are canceled out which means this is a popularity poll between Clinton and Sanders in the party they both want to represent. Clearly the Democrats in New York don't like Sanders as a presidential candidate and in far greater numbers than any independent voting block could alter. There just not enough independents to sway the vote.

Sanders spent three times as much as Clinton to buy New York advertising time and the voters rejected him. He lost playing under the same rules as Clinton.

Eric, None of that matters all that much. I wouldn't have expected him to win if every independent that voted in NY voted for him.

Clinton is one of the most well known names in politics, Bernie Sanders was the complete opposite when he announced his candidacy. He continued to grow throughout the election, and he still is growing. The more people hear about Sanders the more his following grows. Having the registration deadline before the first democratic debate even took place is just plain wrong, televised debates are one of the best ways for people to understand who they want to vote for. With NY they didn't even get the chance. Bernie's message resonates so well, he's getting millennials interested in politics, myself being one of them. There are probably a ton of people that would have liked to have voted for him, but didn't get the chance because they didn't know about him until it was too late. It's also no secret that the media plays up Clinton big time over Sanders.

Sanders went from this when he announced he was running for President:

People should be registered to vote when they get their drivers license, and every state should have an open primary.

Am I saying there's nothing that can't be improved upon?  No.  But you're talking about 2 parties ... 2 teams ... 2 clubs.  They can do whatever the phuck they want.  Don't like it?  Join their club and try to change it.  Or, form your own club.

I'm in CO.  I didn't get to caucus for either the D's or the R's because I'm an "I."  But why should I get to caucus?  I'm not one of them!

You wanna "make enough noise?"  Go form your own club!  Maybe people will join you in your treehouse and maybe they won't.  But the other kids already have their fort.  Let them have their reindeer games.

Why do independents feel they should be allowed to vote in the primary for the selection of a party's candidate? You want to vote for a Democrat in the Democratic primary...register as a damn Democrat. You want to vote for a Republican...register as a damn Republican. If you are hell set on being an Independent, simply switch your party registration after the primary. Lazy bastards.

The primary system is absolutely broken. It's time to get rid of the caucus system. It's time to get rid of open primaries, you want to vote for a party nominee...join that party. Time to get rid of superdelegates (not that they have an actual impact on this race or any other the last few cycles). It's time to get rid of this long drawn out affair and move to 4 primary dates, maybe broken out by region.
