he's a dime-a-dozen type player, easily replaced.

Or the bullpen is bad. Who would you have pitched in the 8th inning yesterday or the day before? My guess is the setup guy. That didn't work. Then it was our closer that lace up the game winning row.

But if the bullpen doesn't do their job it's Scioscia's fault because he put them in, right? Scioscia manages based on playing a full season and the wins over projection speaks to him being better than most. When was the last time you said, "we won that game because of great managing?" Never. But you'll find yourself saying, "we lost that game because of poor managing". Why? Because when a player shits the bed it's easy to point the finger at the manager. When a player comes in and does his job the player gets the credit.
