I saw ELP in 1977 at the Long Beach Arena. One of the great rock concerts.

 

Emerson was a fantastic keyboard player.

RIP. Growing up in the seventies I recognize hearing a lot of their songs on the radio but not who composed them. They certainly put out some great music.

Daily Mail is reporting he shot himself because he could no longer play perfectly and was worried about an upcoming tour of Japan.

 

Hand issues, had surgery, but the nerve damage was getting worse. Absolutely shocking.
