What does a volunteer firefighter do? Clean sand rail rims and push the Costco cart?

Incredible that there are people like this, living in our midst. Can't be very many.

We have volunteer firefighters here in the sticks since we can't actually afford many full time ones. Pretty much like full time ones. Just minus the 6 figure salary.

Most places outside of big cities utilize volunteer firefighters.  Most of the ones fighting all of the fires in our state are volunteers.  Most small communities may have just one or two paid firefighter positions while the rest are volunteer.  They do everything.  It works pretty damn well.
