welcome my friends to the crap show that never ends.

I still like the idea of Shoe moving to the bullpen.

The splitter is not meant to be thrown over and over for 180-200 innings a season.

Even though his inning splits show some inconsistency early in games, he would likely have a different mindset if coming in for 1-2 innings.

He could become another Uehara in the pen.

 

Pen to start 2016 then = Street, Smith, Shoe, Al Al, Tossed Salad, Morin, and Alvarez; with Bedrosian in the minors improving his command?   

 

Would kind of prefer to start the year with Richards (back to 2014 form?), Santiago (now having a nearly 200 innings season under his belt), Weaver (if velocity back up 3-4mph), Wilson (healthy), and Heaney (still needing more innings build up); with Tropeano and Skaggs starting 2016 in the minors along with Nate Smith and DeLoach, and Shoe in the pen.

 

Then see how the first 1-2 months go, and adjust from there.

 

Never hurts to have good pitching depth nowadays.
