Los Angeles Rams thread

Offense was efficient (0 TO's) yesterday, while the defense made S.F. pay time and time again, with 6 sacks and 4 forced TO's.

Littleton is really impressing at LB.   Donald was crazy, even for him (4 sacks).

On to home game with GB, after sweeping 3 road games; the Pack should be vulnerable as they are no doubt not used to mid 80s temps in late October.

Hopefully 8-0 going into showdown #1 in New Orleans in early November

Rams today acquired 2015 3rd overall pick, DE/edge rusher Dante Fowler, Jr., from the Jags for a 2019 3rd round pick and a 2020 5th round pick.

Fowler gives the Rams extra defensive depth up front, although 3rd round and 5th round picks seems kind of steep for a guy they likely won't be re-signing after 2018.    They could be eyeing him as a starting edge rush replacement for Matt Longacre, who has struggled some this season.

Fowler, Barron, Littleton, and Ebukam could be a nice LB corp, if Fowler can fit in well enough.    Longacre and John Franklin-Myers would then give them decent depth in the LB corp.

Sunday's game in N.O. could be one of those 43-40 type games, as neither team is doing very well with pass defense and being on turf.     It starts a crazy 3 weeks stretch with games @ N.O., home vs warming up Seattle, and a MNF game at Mexico City vs the Chiefs.

This looks like that come back to earth games where the Rams are going to get their first loss and a lot of info on what they need to fix.

Their defense is just not covering the field well or putting pressure on Brees.

35-14 is a big halftime deficit.

The tackling has been poor far too often.   How many big plays have come from broken tackles?

Defense wins championships.

The Rams are amongst the top teams.   But they won’t be a true Super Bowl caliber team until the defense gets its’ act together.

Holding the terrible Raiders, Cards, and Niners down doesn’t mean a thing, when the other six teams have run roughshod on the Rams defense!
