Reds making Todd Frazier available for trade?

Recommended Posts

An executive "of a team that's talked to the Reds" told ESPN's Jayson Stark that Todd Frazier is available.

There had been some thought that Frazier might survive the Reds' rebuild -- at least for another year or so -- but Stark says this executive is "convinced" the third baseman can be had for the right price. Frazier, 29, smashed a career-high 35 home runs in 157 games this past season for Cincinnati. He carries two more years of arbitration eligibility. Every team in Major League Baseball is seeking cost-controlled power.

Tough call, he is the late bloomer type but in a position of need. I can't see parting with a Heaney/Richards pitcher but any combination of one starter like a Santiago/Skaggs/Tropeano and Kubitza/Cowart with some minor league talent would be acceptable. I know that probably won't get the deal done since it is a sell high but that would be a baseline

I'm surprised you and Stradling are willing to give up Kubitza. Some sources suggest he has magical gap power.

I have no faith in what we have now

So yes I would. Price tag..I have no idea what we have that cinci would want

What they want:  Young, cheap, and real good players.

What we want to give them:  Weaver, Wilson, Pujols, and the rest of Hamilton's contract.
