Governors of 4 U.S. states say no to admitting Syrian refugees

Recommended Posts

Democrats have started to talk about something I think has been ignored, the "elephant in the room" you say. Hell, Sanders railed on it today. Money. Countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia...tens of millions of dollars flowing to groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS.

It has been reported that Qatar will spend $200 billion on the 2022 World Cup, including the construction of an enormous number of facilities to host that event—$200 billion on hosting a soccer event, yet very little to fight against ISIS. Worse still, it has been widely reported that the government has not been vigilant in stemming the flow of terrorist financing, and that Qatari individuals and organizations funnel money to some of the most extreme terrorist groups, including al Nusra and ISIS.

All of this has got to change. Wealthy and powerful Muslim nations in the region can no longer sit on the sidelines and expect the United States to do their work for them. As we develop a strongly coordinated effort, we need a commitment from these countries that the fight against ISIS takes precedence over the religious and ideological differences that hamper the kind of cooperation that we desperately need.…

Obviously not the only answer...but certainly something that doesn't get talked about

"Should there be a database system that tracks Muslims here in this country?" an NBC News reporter asked Trump at an event in Newton, Iowa.

"There should be a lot of systems beyond databases," the billionaire responded. "We should have a lot of systems."

"But that's something your White House would like to implement?" the reporter pressed.

"Oh, I would certainly implement that. Absolutely," Trump said.

I expect he'll get another bump in the polls

LOL, so true. That's been just part of the mystery surrounding how people feel about him. The more outrageous his comments, the more support he seems to gather.

At this point, pollsters and those who study trends just must be throwing their arms up into the air and saying "we don't get it."

The refugee camps in the neighboring states are just that, refugee camps. These countries have enough of their own problems with unemployment and radicalism without unleashing all the Syrians on the public. In fact, the camps are so bad that a lot of them are actually returning to Syria.

Exactly the reasoning for us not allowing any more for a period of time...  Especially now when isis is using phony passports and "refugees" to enter the states/countries they target.

I'm hoping this refugee situation will wake-up our government.  We've been taking tens of thousands of refugees annually; it's time to pause and take care of our own internal problems of homelessness instead of compounding the problem.

Not really. It's more about obnoxious people being obnoxious. There does seem to be an overlap, though. For the record, many of the people posting the "Merry Christmas" crap don't strike me as particularly religious. They just want to bray.

What a loser. If anything happens to anyone on the list he provided he should be arrested.
