Non Hall of Fame news - Chris Carter to #Brewers on one-year major-league deal, per source.

That helps us

Interesting.  Although for the Brewers, they have a protected first round pick.  So one year deal, they offer arb next season, and get a sandwich pick.

Khris Davis: According to Morosi, the Brewers see the power-hitting Davis as one of the prime trade chips in their rebuilding process. The glut of free-agent outfielders makes a deal less likely right now, but Davis could be a prime candidate at the July 31 deadline.

What would it take to do a deal for Davis? Or is he someone we shouldn't be looking at?

Think it's increasingly likely Angels are hoping somehow the market drags out long enough that they can get someone on a one-year, deal CJ, or trade for an OFer.

What if, the Angels were always gunning for Fowler.  But know that time is on their side.  So they are trying to wait him out till the pricetag comes down to under $10 a year?

Probably not, but I'm bored.

If Span can get 10+ million a year, Fowler should as well.

The problem with Fowler is he is strictly a CF, an awful CF at that. Maybe he'd play better in left, but who knows?

No matter how bad, it's still probably an improvement of our D we have now in LF sadly.

Biggest issues with him though is he's a punch and judy hitter.  But he is a true leadoff hitter, so it might not be that bad.

But the compensation attachment is what is going to hurt him.  I think people are saying compensation is worth $10 million.  So if Span is worth 3/$31 and he is equal to Fowler.  And also considering Span is 2 years older than Fowler.  A 4-5 year deal in the $40-50 range adjusted for compensation would put it 4-5/$30-40 range.  Or $8 a year.  And thats approaching the Angels affordability index.

Please no Fowler. His overall production has been heavily aided by playing in hitters parks. He comes to Anaheim and he'll be a replacement player

He's not going to be a star but he'd still get on base at a good clip, and adding him and Escobar at 1 and 2 lets us slide Calhoun further down.
