It is a joke. Even the Pentagon has said, "No more tanks, please."

Fiscal conservatives want to see a balanced budget.  There are various ways to get there.  You can't just eliminate the military.

It's important because combat power is measured by numbers of troops and equipment and the capability of those two factors. 

 

China has a larger military than ours. It doesn't cost as much because most Chinese workers are essentially slaves.

trump didn't win. he announced he wanted to deport all illegal immigrants, and some of the other candidates took him to the woodshed because of it.
