I think this would be a sick rotation:

Wilson

Richards

Hanson

Blanton

If Richards has a few more starts that are even close to his last two, there's no way he doesn't make the rotation with how crappy our back-end guys have been.  We still have a while until Weaver comes back to see how Blanton and Vargas pan out.  Whoever is sucking more ass can get knocked down to long relief.

I have more confidence in Vargas over Blantana.

With how well Richards, and Williams is doing, and if they continue to do so.  Once we get healthy, which will be towards the all star break, I can see Vargas being traded, possibly getting a good prospect.  He will be a free agent next season.

For now tiebreaker goes to the fact that Vargas is a lefty, our pen is loaded with lefties, and our rotation only has CJ and Vargas.

 

That said, let's see how Vargas and Blanton actually pitch between now and when Weaver returns.

Vargas has had one more mildly competent start than Blanton has. Unless Richards turns back into his old self there's no way he should be taken out of the rotation right now and even if he does turn back to his old self he can't be any worse than Blanton.
