I think you are correct.  And this isn't a minor player either.  He's due to get $22 million each of the next 2 years with a $22 million option with a $4 buyout.

Really, as MLB goes, might as well aim high on punishments.  Because from this case forward, it will be the benchmark for future punishments.

I would expect MLB to really shoot for the moon on this one, if only because of the huge backlash the NFL has ran into. The real question then comes down to how the MLBPA feels about this.

Lol at voiding his contract. No way that's gonna happen. No reports state that she suffered major injuries. She was taken to the hospital but unless her injuries are severe, he will be playing baseball for the Rockies next year. He makes too much money. The players union will defend him.
