isnt that a mexican island?

That gave me a good chuckle because people actually think that way. I'm not hispanic, but my neighbor once asked if I was from one of those "mexican islands" near Florida.

i was talking to a friend's stepmother once and she made a comment about some dude being mexican. i corrected her by saying that he was honduran and she told me that anything south of texas was mexico. last conversation we ever had.

the bothersome part isn't really the he's mexican part, because most people aren't going to be able to hear the difference between the spanish accents or the difference in faces, myself included, but everything south of texas? damn.

How awesome would it be to hire Erstad for manager, GA for hitting coach, Percival for pitching coach, and Salmon as GM.

Before all the hate and criticism just remember, 1 playoff berth, and 0 playoff wins in the last 5 years. How much worse could it possibly get?

A lot worse. Like 1987-2001 worse. Also we could possibly start to hate the players we all loved.

Using that logic ... you might as well hire AW.com to take over the franchise.

No division titles and no winning seasons could be worse.

I like this move -- Halos have surprisingly been weak at catcher in recent years despite having Mike Scioscia 'the catcher' as manager.

or perhaps, it is because Scioscia is manager - who knows?

Molina family clearly knows a things or two about catching -- Yadier still best in the game despite getting older and sustaining injuries each of the past two/three years.

I like our Perez and think that Jose Molina can help him develop better defensive skills......

Salvadore Perez, the W/S MVP for KC is rapidly becoming the best catcher in baseball -- for a while there he wasn't even the best catcher in Missouri !!!

Welcome home Cheo.

Just finished Benji's autobiography.  He gives Jose a lot of the credit for making him the catcher he became.   This is a good move not because he is a 2002 alumni, but because he was a good defensive catcher and Benjamin Molina Sr. taught his sons and a lot of other Puerto Rican players who made it to the bigs about the game.   When you read the book, you will see that Mr. Molina raised players who will be good coaches.

I never knew that Benji had never played catcher before the Angels signed him.   His first time behind the plate was at his try out for the Angels.

I still remember Bengie's no look flip to K-Rod after a WP to cut down the potential tying run in Cleveland back in 2005.

yep, one of the coolest plays ive ever seen. Went from yelling "FU..!!!" To cheering in 2 seconds.

Bengie was one of the unsung studs of this team for years. Great glove at C, and turned into a pretty decent hitter. Off the top of my head didnt he o a lot of the damage against the skanks in the 05 series? Him and GA if i remember correctly.

Trippy to know he had been a college SS.   The elder Molina is a near legend in PR -- I think he went into the PR Baseball HOF in 2002
