I'd prefer to find some pop from the left side of the plate first. Whether that is Zobrist at 2B batting 2nd, allowing Calhoun to drop down to 5th or getting Alex Gordon to play LF batting 5th. Those are my two preferred options before looking at another right handed bat.

I'd love to see Upton brought in. Between Upton, Gordon, Cespedes and Heyward, there are four great options, and the Angels have a realistic chance of getting one of them.

Yeah, I like that approach as well.  Zobrist is just so versatile because he can cover a number of positions.  You just never know where the injury bug will bite.  I like Gordon's bat, but I also really like his defense.  Between Gordon, Calhoun, and Trout we could have a killer outfield defensively.

may be able to get him for less than the $7 million option price.

 

some team may pay that much for a fourth OF'er but not many -- and if there's a team that will, that's where Murphy will be in 2016.

 

Perhaps he'll sign back with Texas.
