Yep.  Seatbelt always.  I was once rear-ended at work by a drunk, while sitting in my Police car with all the lights on (to block an on-ramp).

 

I read about this guy landing on the sign the day after we had a similar freeway-caper...

 

We were dispatched to a male running on the freeway, because CHP didn't have a unit to spare.  Turns-out the guy was driving s/b on the 405 freeway near Lakewood, and was involved in a collision.  For whatever reason, he decided to run across the lanes to the n/b side where he tried to jump into a moving convertible.  He couldn't hang-on for very long tho, and fell onto the number-3 lane, where he was at least partially struck by at least one car.

 

When we got up there, CHP and LB Fire were tending to him and his painful-looking head-wound.  People get stupid.

I got a text from a buddy of mine: "Did you guys know that I guessed that that guy they got in a car accident on the five freeway and flung onto the freeway sign was Armenian at least four hours before they announced his name?"

 

wonder if the sign was manufactured in Turkey.
