Once again, if we don't retain him for next year and give his 27 year old ass a shot at working crap out then we're fools. 

 

He's got great upside for his current age and we need pitching. 

 

 

 

He is a free agent next year.

I'd like to see Scioscia put in Latos in the 8th, just to see what he's got

I see him strictly as a ST invite for 2016.

 

he was pretty ineffective for multiple teams this year......

 

but he could come to ST and compete for the fifth starter spot/ sixth spot --long relief/spot starter or starter in SLC rotation.

and he is  a F/A next year so some team will give him more than just a ST invite and how he pitches this week may play a role in determining that.

 

scouts in the stands will be watching him as well as all the expanded roster guys.

I wonder if that play was a sign Gia's vision still isn't quite right. It wasn't overly difficult and he made it look impossible, barely even moving until the ball was past him. I know he's not good defensively at the best of times but that was a little worrying.

Latos still throws pretty hard, is only 27 and before this year was a good mid rotation starter. He will definitely get signed by someone.

nice to see Latos get that first inning as a Halo under his belt and clear out some of the moth balls.

 

meanwhile, the top guy in the rotation he got kicked off of about two weeks ago, is heading to the ninth in SF with a one hit shut out.........

Probably reading too much into it, the guy is hitting the ball really well. Just a bad play because he isn't good on defense/
