3 games back for the Division with 7 to play. More importantly, 4 against Texas to finish the season. They need to focus on the Division and let the Wild Card be the consolation prize. It's been a crazy season and an exceptional September. Let's keep this going.

Things would get quite interesting if they chipped another game of Texas's lead the next few days. If they went into Arlington just two games back, a series win would put them in a tie for the division.

Hopefully the Tigers win at least one against Texas and the Angels sweep Oakland. In that case we'd be going into the Texas series down 2, meaning we would force a tie if we win the Texas series, and win outright with a sweep. 

 

That won't be easy but it's not technically impossible.

Yep. Felt that this team needed to likely go 8-2 the final 10 to get a WC spot and likely had to sweep one of the Mariners or A's series. They got the sweep out of the way.

 

Hell with it though....just win out the rest of the way and take the division

Oakland has never been a walk in the park. Hopefully they look past all that and stay hot. We'll see what happens today and go from there.

The Astros are 29 and 46 on the road this year. 

 

Sucks for them that they close with 6 on the Road. I think a 3-3 finish would be optimistic. 2-4 is the most likely scenario for them. I think the Twins are the bigger threat. They've played pretty well since the Angels left.

The A's are shutting him down for the season.  Were getting a guy with a 7.26 ERA on Wednesday.  This is huge for us, we could possibly get that sweep after all.  The A's dont play any more division rivals this year either.
