Gotta say, it's actually encouraging that the team is tied in this game. They've had to face Felix + they had to face their own stupidity for the game. That's a lot to overcome

Seriously, the Angels could've used this Mike Morin all season.  Where's he been?  How big is it if he really has rediscovered his form and the Angels get Joe Smith back in time for the playoffs?  That could shorten a lot of games.  Suddenly Shoemaker and Weav only need to go 5 innings, and at that rate, we could afford it if they give up 3 runs.

Trading for him created a whole domino effect of problems for the Angels. Without even a Callaspo-quality player at third, Dipoto got utterly destroyed during the negotiations for David Freese, giving up Bourjos (who would have been our only fast bench player) and Grichuk (who would have been way better than the clowns we've used in LF this year)

Trading for Grant Green was a smart move, but like you said–there was nobody to replace Callaspo at 3rd. It certainly may have created an urgency/panic to trade for Freese, but I think Dipoto was just bad at making trades in general. He gave away too much in nearly every trade he made as GM. I'm glad he's gone.
