Court Lets Arizona Reject Would-Be Voters Who Fail To Prove Citizenship On State Registration Form

A three-judge panel on Thursday allowed Arizona to enforce a law that requires state voter registration forms that lack documentary proof of citizenship to be rejected. The court stayed an injunction that had forced the state to register those applicants as federal-only voters.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled that “appellants … have satisfied the standard for a stay pending appeal with respect to the portion of the injunction barring enforcement of A.R.S § 16-121.01(C). “

Section 16-121.01(C), which the court ruled may be enforced, stipulates that “any application for [state] registration shall be accompanied by satisfactory evidence of citizenship … and the county recorder or other officer in charge of elections shall reject any application for registration that is not accompanied by satisfactory evidence of citizenship.”

Well, no. But what does Arizona consider "satisfactory evidence of citizenship"?

In NH, I had a list of acceptable forms of ID. I used my driver's license, birth cert. and vehicle registration. I figured this was standard.

It looks like you need to provide your state ID in Arizona and...one of birth certificate, passport, naturalization docs yadda yadda.

Btw you guys know what is required to get a state ID/Driver's license? Proof of US citizenship. Anyway., let's see what is required in the other states.

Alabama: Driver's license or last 4 of SSN.

Alaska: Driver's license

Arkansas: Last 4 of social security or state ID

California: State ID or last 4 of social security.

Colorado: State ID

Connecticut: State ID

Delaware: State ID or last 4 of social security number.

DC: "State" ID or last 4 of ssn.

Florida: State ID or last 4 of ssn. Funnily they also let you use a debit card.

Georgia: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Guam: "State" ID or last 4 of ssn.

Hawaii: State ID and SSN OR utility bill, bank statement etc...

Idaho: State ID - if address doesn't match you need a utility bill or bank statement.

Illinois: State ID and last 4 of ssn or utility bill/bank statement etc.

Indiana: State ID or last 4 of ssn. Interestingly "You may also indicate that you do not have any of the above on a state or federal voter registration form and a unique voter ID number is assigned to you."

Iowa: State ID.

Kansas: State ID or last 4 of ssn. "If you do not have one of these forms of ID and need help getting ID, go to www.voteriders.org." The known blue state of Kansas allows you to get assistance from a site that says this on the front page: "Voter ID laws silence millions of Americans
VoteRiders is here to help.
We provide voter ID assistance so that every American can cast a ballot that counts."

Kentucky: State ID and SSN and uh oh..."If you do not have one of these forms of ID and need help getting ID, go to www.voteriders.org."

Louisiana: State ID or last for of ssn or the voteriders website.

Maine: State ID or utility bill/paycheck etc...

Maryland: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Massachusetts: State ID or last 4 or utility bill etc.

Michigan: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Minnesota: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Mississippi: State ID or last 4 of ssn or utility bill etc. Also: If you live at a non-traditional address, you must include a drawing or map of your location lmao

Missouri: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Montana: State ID or last 4 of ssn or utility bill etc.

Nebraska: State ID or utility bill.

Nevada: State ID and last 4 of ssn.

NH: see above. One of the stricter states.

New Jersey: State ID or last 4 of social or proof of address.

New Mexico: State ID or utility bill blah blah

New York: State ID or last 4 or utility bill etc

North Carolina: State ID and last 4 of ssn and voter registration number if known. Or utility bill etc...

North Dakota: NO VOTER REGISTRATION. Just provide ID when you vote or sign affidavit.

Ohio: State ID and last 4 of ssn.

Oklahoma: State ID or last 4 of ssn or voteriders.

Oregon: State ID or last 4 of ssn or utility bill.

Pennsylvania: State ID or last 4 or voteriders.

Puerto Rico: Government issued ID or last 4 of ssn.

Rhode Island: State ID or last 4 of ssn or utility bill.

South Carolina: State ID and full SSN.

South Dakota: State ID or last 4 of ssn. Link to voteriders.

Tennessee: Full SSN.

Texas: State ID or last 4 or voteriders.

Utah: State ID and last 4 of ssn.

Vermont: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Virginia: State ID and full SSN.

Washington: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

West Virginia: State ID or last 4 of ssn.

Wisconsin: State ID or utility bill.

Wyoming: State ID. If not available need 2 forms of ID such as social security card and birth certificate.

Sooooo. Since we're freaking out about illegals voting and "election integrity", if we simply look at the requirements to register to vote in each state, which I humbly provided, we see that you guys are silly. Most states require the same fucking shit. Look it up for yourself if you want.

See those North Dakota "requirements"? Trump won that state with 65% of the vote. NH has some of the strictest requirements and Biden won. Georgia was incredibly close, and has the same requirements as Alabama which Trump won handily.

It's almost like the system actually works. Huh.

Every state has pretty much the exact same requirements to register to vote; State ID and/or last 4 of ssn. It already requires proof of residency to get a state issued ID so Arizona is just doing performative bullshit to get you guys hard.

North Dakota has no requirements. Trump won that state with 65% of the vote. Georgia has the same requirements as Alabama. Biden barely won Georgia and Trump won Alabama with 62% of the vote. New Hampshire has some of the strictest requirements in the country, and Biden won. Wyoming also has strict requirements, and Trump won. The system works.

And btw I have no problem with making sure the elections are "secure". Only legal US citizens should be able to vote.

That’s what I asked. Obviously there are people that don’t have the same view. It’s why it made its way to a circuit court of appeals.
