And more and more.  He did this for the attention and because he is a traitor.  Like I said, people love the Robin Hood shit but just like the rest of the hackers he is a criminal.

That's why I asked for proof.  None of those articles definitively say Snowden did it.  They use the words "may" and "might" and "allegedly".

The USA will continue to blame Snowden for everything you can imagine, whether it's accurate or not.  He's the perfect scapegoat for their own incompetence.

True or false: you could create an account using someone else's information that was never verified? Asking for a friend

False. That is why so many high profile people have ready issued statements apologizing instead of crying fraud.

People still like anonymous and that guy that leaked the info about the dod collecting private data. They see them as Robin Hood types. It makes me sick that he was able to escape to Russia and avoid spending the rest of his life in jail.

Looks like we're outed a member of the Impact Team

ashley madison was most likely an inside job.

as someone in the network security field, i can pretty much guarantee there is no way any hacker would spend the kind of time it takes to gather all that useless data included in that dump.

you want to get in, get the good stuff, and get out.

the ceo's emails are hilarious though. what a dolt.

Ashley Madison was a bunch of dudes talking to each other, data analysis suggests

The Ashley Madison hack has revealed a lot of interesting things about the men who used the extramarital-dating site, including which cities, states, and universities they're from.

But what about the women?

It turns out, there may not have been very many women. As in, almost none.

Gizmodo editor-in-chief Annalee Newitz analyzed the data from the site's user database and found a lot of suspicious stuff suggesting that nearly all the female accounts were fake, maintained by the company's employees.

If these numbers are true, I find this amazingly hilarious.

the most massive case of rick rolling in the history of mankind.

Some personal data security companies are trying to cash in on the paranoia about this. I got an e-mail today saying that my e-mail address had been "found in our database" (note that they didn't say Ashley Madison's database, just theirs) below a headline that talked about the Ashley Madison security breach. They were advertising a pay service that supposedly "removes" your personal information from the databases of places like this - although I don't know how that is even possible.

Here's a thought: Don't sign up on websites that you would be ashamed to be identified with if your association with them became public knowledge.
