GAME 14 - RANGERS AT ANGELS

ANAHEIM – Ismael Valdes came back to haunt his formerteammates, the Texas Rangers pitcher holding the Angels to one run and threehits in 7 1/3 innings in the Rangers’ 4-1 victory Wednesday before 15,632 atEdison Field.

The Angels scored their only run in the second inning onOrlando Palmeiro’s two-out RBI single. Palmeiro started in center field, givingDarin Erstad a chance to get off his feet, moving him to the DH spot.

Valdes went 9-13 with a 4.45 ERA in 27 starts for the Angelsin 2001.
