The OT hasn't been officially approved yet, GB. Most likely it'll go through with a possible 4 on 4 for 7 minutes and 3 on 3 for 3 or something of that nature from what I heard.

 

Last night was fun. Lots of Ducks fans made the drive over. Great to see the boys again. Gotta say Khudobin was blowing me away. He looked amazing out there. We're in damn good hands with him. Perry looked solid out there. Rakell was beast. I LOVED the payback check Wags put on Lucic in the 2nd period. **** that guy. Glad Manson busted him open below the eye. Solid game overall though. Vats with a few mistakes out there but otherwise the D looked good. Loving Bieksa.

I'm pretty sure 3 on 3 for 5 minutes is the approved overtime for this season. I can't wait for the season to start but I hope I'm across the street for the home opener!

Hmm guess you're right, Bob. I was listening to one of the NHL Network feeds a few days ago and they said it was pending approval. BOG approved it back in June though. I like it.

As long as the 3 on 3 isn't for playoffs, and only for regular season.  I'm all for it.  

 

For playoffs, they have the right format.  Deathmatch till as long as it takes.

Playoff OT will never change.

I think the new OT rules greatly favor the Ducks, we have great skating, puck moving dmen and we have Perry who is going to dominate in this format.  Not to mention the speed of Haglin and Cogs.  The Ducks will love very few overtime games this year.

Just a speculation piece. But would be a good move to fix a wrong by Murray. Even if we only get a draft pick.

I would offload him for nothing if I could, hell I'd even offload him to bring Bryz back. While he still has some use now that isn't going to last much longer...and that contract is freaking bad

Just have to hope other teams are slow to realize that a penalty when playing the Ducks in overtime is not such a bad thing.

 

But, I think were going to see some teams playing us very aggressively when we have the puck.

I would also expect to see a lot more teams try to do what Colorado did to score (Drop the puck back a ways to the center, while your other two guys cut in front of the goalie and deflect his shot). Harder to stop that play with man on man coverage.

Depends what happens with MLB playoffs...no playoff baseball in so cal means I'm going to the Ducks game.  If there is playoff baseball I'll just have to wait till the game on Wednesday.

Etem bounced back and fourth between the AHL and the Ducks.  Sorry NJ, you guys got fleeced in this deal because you didn't have the cap room to sign Hags.

He is lazy and one dimensional.  Tons of promise but never quite clicked.

So does anyone have any reservations about the team going into the season?  Because right now, I feel if they don't get a big silver cup at the end of the season, it's a disappointment.
