The Perron injury looks like it's probably gonna be extended. Hopefully it's not something where he's gonna miss playoff games.

Looked to me like broken collar bone.  That is at least 6 weeks to recover.

I don't want be a downer, hopefully we get the 2nd point here. But this is a disappointing effort today. Winnipeg is a team that we should dominate. The defense has been lousy.

Important winning that b4 a shootout because the 2nd place lead could come down to a tie breaker depending how the standings are at end of season.

Perron is "week to week" and getting a MRI.  Not good.

Silfverberg is really coming on strong. That entire Kesler line has blown up offensively lately. For Kesler's slow start, he should finish around 20 goals and close to 50 points all with outstanding defensive and face off work.

Perron week to week is a big blow. Really going to need Stewart to come back and play like he had been prior to injury.

McGinn has also been a solid trade.

Not much word on Vatanen either. That upper body injury is looking like a concussion. It was a hit to the head I guess. Hopefully he isn't out for the season. Now with Perron going down the Ducks are seeing multiple core players go down with injuries right before playoffs. Because, of course that's what would happen.

Kesler deserves to be a finalist for a selke. I'm a homer so I think he should win it but that aside the numbers speak for themselves. He plays all the top opposition, top face off % in the league and he's gonna end up with a solid offensive campaign(which shouldn't even matter for this award) pretty great stuff.

Perron will be ready for the playoffs. That's all that matters now. We've locked in our spot. Same with Vatanen. Let him rest and get 100% maybe get a few games in just before the end of the season to shake the rust off.

 

Gotta say, McGinn has been a fantastic acquisition. Best move of the trade deadline by far.

How has Pirri looked?

He's a sniper, put a few dangerous looking shots on net but he hasn't got much ice time other wise. They have him on the half boards on the power play. I'm sure we'll be seeing him more now with Perron out.

Yah, with Perron going down for a bit, Pirri is going to have an excellent opportunity to produce. I imagine his ice time will go up a good amount.
