I just heard. So sad. I took my nephew Dominick to see BB, Mavis Staples and Leon Russell about 8 or 9 years ago. It was his first concert. RIP.

I saw him play years ago...at least 15 years ago...at the Galaxy Theater in Anaheim. Great small venue and he played for 3+ hours. Well, his band played, he was showing his age so he would take breaks during the show while his band continued to play. Still one of my favorite shows and I sport my BB King bowling shirt from that concert every once in awhile.

 

Was one of my first introduction to blues, if you dig in to some of his older catalog and not necessarily his later duets and stuff...just some amazing music.

He was a big influence on pretty much every rock, R&B, and blues musician. He will be missed. The King is dead, long live the King!
