aside from Trout, the only way the Angels could get this done would be to gut all their young SP depth, which would be horrible.  I imagine Newcomb would have to be involved, among others.

I would guess two young arms out of Newcomb, Tropeano, and Heaney. Plus a few ancillary pieces. I mean, he still is one of the best when healthy. Then again, I'm sure the front office has trepidation about taking on money like that for players on the wrong side of thirty with a history of injuries.

It's really hard to judge anyone who plays for the Rockies. Balls leave the park there that wouldn't make the warning track elsewhere, and pitchers usually get cuffed around because their breaking balls don't break as much.
