Was at the game tonight sitting about 10 rows behind Weaver's Dad.  I've seen a lot of Weav's starts including his first ever game over the years and he looked really good tonight.  Great command.  Hopefully the first month was just a slow start.  I still BeWeave!

Weavers 117th pitch was 87mph. He was in control all night. Great to see. Got to sit next to BaseballMom 25 rows behind the visitors dugout.

He pitched a great game tonight. Vintage Weaver. Had a bit more velocity and his command was really on. He definitely still has a good move to first, as one unlucky baserunner found out.  Perez caught a great game, threw out a runner, got an rbi. I hope he starts the next game, see him get some momentum and confidence.

Weaver just looked markedly improved with his posture on the mound. Glad to see that speed up in the high 80's, I knew he could do it. Definitely changed his delivery a bit, his release looked MUCH better.

I give all the credit to Butchy, I'm sure Weavy's glad we still have him around.

Perez makes him throw harder, for sure. Once Ianetta comes around, it shouldn't be a problem though.

The first person who said this I was sure was joking. Now I've read it twice, this isn't a real opinion, right?

It was definitely encouraging to see Weav's velocity more on par with where it was at last year. Lot of 85-87 MPH with a few 88-89 MPH pitches in there. Hopefully it wasn't a one time thing

If he can still kick it up to 89 then he is useful in the pen even if last night Turns out to be a fluke.

This is why I refused to make conclusions about him after his last start in SF. If anybody deserves the benefit of the doubt, it's Weaver. His velocity was concerning but last night it was encouraging to see how it was back to where it was last year for the most part. Sosh referred to this when he said "his stuff looked crisper."

That "stare" we saw last night tells me that this dude is' nt gonna just flame out without a fight. This guy has the heart of a lion and the tenacity of a bulldog. Total respect for him as a person, and player. I believe he'lol do whatever it takes to be successful and fulfill his contract.
