Huge iceberg breaks off Antarctica

One of the biggest icebergs ever recorded, a trillion-ton behemoth more than seven times the size of New York City, has broken off of Antarctica, triggering disagreement among scientists over whether global warming is to blame.

The event, captured by satellite, happened sometime in the past few days when the giant chunk snapped off an ice shelf.

While such “calving” of icebergs is not unusual, this is an especially big one. It covers an area of roughly 2,300 square miles, a bit smaller than the size of the state of Delaware. Its volume is twice that of Lake Erie, according to Project MIDAS, a research group based in Britain.

False news, until I get pieces of the iceberg in my Whiskey.

CHILLING MESSAGE
Skydiver sent wife video warning of suicide plunge

A skydiver in Florida sent his wife a video on Tuesday saying he was "not going to pull the cord" moments before jumping to his death, police said.

Capotorto Vitantonio, 27, was at Skydive DeLand, 22 miles southwest of Daytona Beach, about 10 a.m. when he jumped from a plane and didn't pull the cord to open his parachute, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

DeLand Police released a revised report Friday saying Vitantonio's wife, Costansa Litellini, 25, received a video from her husband saying he was "not going to pull the cord and that he was going somewhere wonderful." She ran into the skydiving center begging the employees to radio the plane to stop her husband.

An Indiana woman threw a party for the homeless after calling off her $30,000 wedding.

Sarah Cummins told the Indianapolis Star that she called off the wedding week ago but was left with a nonrefundable contract at the Ritz Charles and a plated dinner for 170 guests.

Cummins said she decided that rather than throw away the food she would bring some purpose to the event and contacted area homeless shelters.

"For me, it was an opportunity to let these people know they deserved to be at a place like this just as much as everyone else does," Cummins said.

Several local businesses and residents donated suits, dresses and other items for the guests to wear.

Three of Cummins seven bridesmaids, along with her mother and aunts, came to support her at the event

WTF is a "gender reveal" party? The article gives no clue.  "Playing doctor" with cake and ice cream and parents watching?

Something tells me she's either an attention whore or pathological liar.  And this shooting isn't as random as they are making it out to be.

Self-described drug dealer calls 911, reports stolen cocaine

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. –  Calling 911 to report a stolen bag of cocaine probably wasn't the best idea for a self-described Florida drug dealer.

But Okaloosa Sheriff's officials wrote on Facebook that 32-year-old David Blackmon did just that on Sunday morning.

The post says Blackmon called 911 to report a robbery in Fort Walton Beach. Blackmon told the responding deputy that someone entered his car and took $50 and about a quarter ounce of cocaine from the center console.

The report says the deputy spotted some cocaine and a crack rock on the console and a crack pipe on the floorboard by the driver's side door.

Blackmon is charged with possession of cocaine and resisting arrest without violence. He was released from jail on Tuesday, but records don't list a lawye

The Famous Easter Island Heads Have Hidden Bodies

Kind of looks fake, but it's from Forbes.  I find it fascinating that something we knew forever really has a vast very different history to it.

And sorry, no the aliens did not build them.

Digging up something like this could lead to bad luck kinda like the idol the Brady's had in Hawaii
