I know everything is a joke to you, Adam, and I realize that Obama saying it is so doesn't make it happen, but it is good to see the president speak out against such medieval practices.

I guess so but I would much prefer the president to speak out against the proliferation of drone attacks.  Or the obsene money spent in campaigns, or the obsene time spent on campaigns, or the state of veterans in this country, or the loss of personal rights in this country, or a myriad of things that might actually effect less than 1% of the population.

This is not a concern of the President. Not every social topic is the Presidents responsibility to weigh in on, this is the Surgeon General's domain.
